ABT Sportsline unleashes the 810HP ABT Urus Scatenato

ABT Sportsline, the primary tuner for the VW Group, is currently trying its hand with Lamborghini. The ABT Urus Scatenato, which can be translated as “unleashed” or “raging, wild” in Italian, is currently under development by them. Limited to 99 units, the name Urus Scatenato promises to be lived up to, as a mix of performance and exclusivity will be unleashed.

Intro to ABT Urus Scatenato

In a manner similar to its approach with Audi sedans and wagons, the Lamborghini Urus’ performance-oriented versions are utilized by ABT as the starting point. Power is added, and subtle design enhancements are made. The engine room of the Urus Performante, which produces 666 horsepower from a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, is no slouch. However, an additional 144 hp is somehow found by ABT using its Power R technology.

To help with the channeling of the additional power, the Urus Scatenato’s aerodynamics are refined by ABT. The SUV receives a cohesive spoiler with a center blade up front, along with a modified rear skirt and wing, all aimed at enhancing the Urus’ aggressive appearance and generating additional downforce.

Continuing with the theme of subtle enhancements, carbon fiber is employed throughout the Urus. It is used for the engine compartment cover, release, and engine cover. Inside, glossy exposed carbon fiber dominates the design elements, covering the seat frame trim, gearshift, and other trim pieces.

The exterior also undergoes the exposed carbon fiber treatment on its mirror caps, wing flares, side skirts, and hood vents, further adding to the menace implied by the ABT High-Performance IRL 23-inch wheels. Furthermore, the exhaust system, equipped with ABT 4-pipe titanium tailpipe tips, offers the perfect soundtrack for the V8 of the Scatenato.

Specifications

Taken as a whole, the Urus Scatenato bears a resemblance to the Audi RS Q8 Signature Edition that ABT developed last year. The Q8 shares its platform with the Porsche Cayenne and Lamborghini Urus, and it utilizes a variation of the 4.0 twin-turbo V8, producing 790 hp. It achieves a 0 to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) time of 3.2 seconds and can reach 196 mph with enough runway, making it noticeably faster than the stock RS Q8.

While performance numbers for the Urus Scatenato have not been provided by ABT Sportsline, it can be safely assumed that the enhanced version of the Urus will likely experience similar improvements. Given that a stock Urus Performante is faster than a Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0 around Hockenheim, one can only imagine the performance gains with an additional 144 hp.
