BTS’ V is breaking records with his solo album LAYOVER

BTSV (Kim Taehyung) made his solo debut with the studio album Layover. The album has been gaining love and attention from the ARMYs. BTS’ V has become the highest-charting Korean soloist in Billboard’s history joining his bandmates Suga and Jimin.

Layover was released on September 8. Since its release, the album debuted at No.2 on Billboard 200 charts. Layover has six tracks: Rainy Days, Blue, Love Me Again, Slow Dancing, For Us, and Slow Dancing(Piano Version). All the tracks on the studio album have their respective music videos. Slow Dancing is the title track of Layover.

Along with V, his pet dog Yeontan can also be witnessed in some of the music videos. The cover image of the album “Layover” is of his pet dog. BTS’ V released the album on Yeontan’s birthday, which is September 8. BTS members along with his Wooga Squad also showed their support for the album.

LAYOVER IS NOW THE SECOND TOP SELLING ALBUM

Billboard released a list of top-selling albums for the current week on X(Twitter) recently. Among the list was V’s solo debut studio album Layover. The album placed at the second position after Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts. The other albums on the list were Mitski’s The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, Demi Lovato’s Revamped, and Dan+Shay’s Bigger Houses.

The album has performed well on both the domestic as well as international charts. Layover sold 100,000 units in its first week of release. This also led to its entry in the Billboard 200. Layover debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Japan charts deemed a best-selling album.

V is the third member of the globally popular boy band BTS to make history on the Hanteo Chart with solo releases. The fellow BTS members, Jimin and Suga previously held this record with their respective albums: Face and D-Day. V ranks as the fifth highest in terms of first-day sales among all artists (including groups), trailing behind SEVENTEEN, BTS, Stray Kids, and TXT.

BTS’s V has won his sixth music show trophy for “Slow Dancing”! On September 28, at the end of the show “MNet Countdown”, it was announced that this week’s candidates for first place was BTS’s V’s “Slow Dancing”.

V’s title track “Slow Dancing” has claimed the top position on the iTunes Top Songs charts in over 75 regions worldwide.

 It includes the United Kingdom, Brazil, Japan, France, Australia, and Canada, among others. Layover has also dominated the iTunes Top Albums charts in at least 65 different regions.

Remarkably, V’s solo album also made a significant impact on Japan’s Oricon chart. It secured the top position with an additional 221,491 copies sold. Simultaneously, the album’s song “Slow Dancing” attained the coveted top spot on the Daily Digital Single Ranking.
